Knights 1980 Squad Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The 1980 edition of the McQuaid Knights celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary with a pick-up game
on June 25, at ESL Arena. Stuart McKenzie also hosted a get together at his home on the previous night. Joining the
alumni squad were eighth grade varsity goalie, Evan Casamento and St. Lawrence University freshman goalie phenom Megan Guckian,
whose brothers, Conner and Dan, played for the Knights.
The game was closely contested, with many
good looking plays being executed by the forwards. The defense was equal to the task and both goalies
made a number of excellent stops. Varsity Coach Al Vyverberg stopped in to watch the game, reminisce and to show his State
Championship ring to the alumni.
